The materials that have been chosen will be beneficial my students and myself as an educator in many aspects. I have a wonderful group of first grade students whom are really working on a wide range of reading skills. I have students that are ranging from alphabet letters and sounds, CVC patterns, silent e patterns, prefixes/suffixes. The variety of materials that I have included will be used each and everyday in the classroom as we participate in our individualized small groups. The groups are targeted towards the students individual needs and where they are at in their reading patterns and areas of focus. My students show to be more focused and engaged in the classroom when they have materials that challenge them. I am looking to be able to provide my students with the necessary tools that they will need in order to make them successful and independent learners. It is my job to ensure they have those materials readily available to them. I have many eager learners that will be so grateful to have materials that are of interest to them and right within their learning needs. I have also included a set of classroom headphones for computer work that is also targeted towards their needs. I have many students that do not have headphones in the classroom, and the noise level from the computers is distracting for all students. It would be beneficial for all of my students to have a pair of headphones in order to make learning stronger for all. There are also a few organizational tools that will be helpful in the classroom to alleviate messes and obvious distractions. If I am chosen to be a candidate for these wonderful classroom supplies; myself and would my students would be forever grateful.
