As a new school counselor, my hope is that each child can feel comfortable and safe when they walk into my office. Some of the supplies will also make it a functional and effective space for students to visit during their school day. Students will benefit from games and supplies that facilitate school counseling support, such as exploring feelings, safely navigating challenges, and feeling prepared and confident to continue the school day. Whether needing a cuddle from the cuddle ball or playing games while talking, these supplies will support our students during their time in the counseling office! An air purifier works as a white noise for privacy in the room to maintain confidentiality, and helps keep students and myself healthy while spending time in the older building on our campus. I want students to have an additional place in school where they know they can have their basic needs met (i.e. receive a snack if hungry so they can focus) and develop healthy tools to be the best learners they can be.
