These materials will help provide students with the platform to be successful. Many times, students don't have the school supplies to start the school year and fall behind due to lack of a pencil, folder, binder clips, correction fluid etc. The Healthy Mixed Snack box and other food items will give my students a needed boost when they are hungry. With this project, I can make sure that students know that they can come to me for supplies and have a stock for a few years. I have included backpacks since some students don't have them or can't afford new ones, light filters and lights to help create a learning-centered, mindful environment, and a chair so that I can sit next to their desks to help them learn one one one. The zen garden is to promote mindfulness and self-regulation for my students with high anxiety. The classroom decor will help create a learning-center vibe that students feel safe and comfortable to come to me if they have issues, need a break, etc. I look forward to seeing the good things these supplies can do.
