Classrooms can be stressful, noisy, and challenging at times. Now imagine being a child with autism or severe anxiety in that setting. It is easy to become over-stimulated and stressed out. Maybe you just need a few minutes to gather your thoughts and calm down. Our sensory and relaxation center will provide just that for these students. One of my students has seizures quite often and needs an area to go to so that he can be calm and recover from his seizure activity. This has been beneficial in the past for him. Also, this area could provide an inviting atmosphere for my students with physical impairments to work on their motor skills.
