I teach 3rd and 4th-grade students chess at my school. My students with benefit from the tables because at this time the room that I teach in is not suitable for playing chess. The student desks are attached to the chair which would make it difficult to balance the chessboard during a match. Children need to chess in order to learn how to problem-solve on their own. All of us have suffered through the pandemic and I believe chess is a great way to empower my students.
