At GMS we have class sizes of about 100 students per hour. Understandably, it's important to have an adequate amount of equipment for students to make the activity and lesson worthwhile. Having enough equipment to meet the needs of our large class sizes provides students with the high number of repetitions necessary and the practice they need to improve their skills. After a year of lockdown, our students' need for physical activity is more important than ever for their mental, emotional, and physical health. In addition, as part of our Nevada State PE Standards, students must master standard 1.8.2 "Demonstrate manipulative skills in a variety of environments and under a host of conditions." The addition of basketballs would support our goals and help our students achieve mastery.
