The more engaging learning is, the more my students retain. The hands-on reading and math centers I have requested will allow my students to take ownership in their learning. It will allow them to accomplish basic reading and math skills at their own pace and gain a sense of pride while doing it. My students are working diligently to master fact fluency in multiplication and division, which is aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards. The reading and math centers provide students the opportunity to work with others and receive quick feedback while mastering 3rd grade skills. While participating in the centers, my students will be able to receive the peer to peer interaction they missed out of due to the pandemic and also give my students the basics that they need to succeed, not only in the classroom but in their everyday lives.
