As a special education instructor, my work is to support, evaluate, and advocate for the students at my school. I rely on technology to support my challenged and diverse learners. My role in the school district is both stationary and remote. I visit multiple classes sometimes within a classroom period to support teachers, staff and the students. At a moment's notice, I’m often on my phone downloading information for students, reviewing IEP's, disciplinary documents, collecting data, reading letters from parents or information from our mental health support team to make quick, timely and decisions to help the students and staff get through the day. I am so excited and grateful to know that the possibility to apply for the 11-inch iPad Pro has put joy in my heart. I can definitely better meet the multi-faceted needs of the population I work with. This technology would definitely be a game changer. The iPad Pro would allow me to access files quickly and accurately respond to students questions and needs. A picture is worth a thousand words. The iPad pro would also allow me to take pictures of students science projects giving students an opportunity to reflect on their accomplishments and success. It's also important to understand that all the information needed to support our high school students is data based. The speed of the iPad Pro is super convenient for my needs and could reduce the time I spend in a classroom, giving me the opportunity to do more work with other classes, I am asking for consideration for this grant.
