Books have the ability to transport students to places they have never been, or to reinforce places they have. Native American characters is the focus of this request, as a high percentage of my students are Native American. I want my students to be able to see themselves, or their friends, in the characters of their favorite books. To better understand different cultures, or to better explain their culture is a gift of all people. These books will be used by students individually, as a read-a-loud for the whole class, or to partner read. The books will be shared amongst teachers in grades K-6.
