This group of second graders are in the third year of learning in a pandemic which has been their entire elementary education so far. Students are still expected to keep distance and space while in the classroom. They remain at their tables/desks more throughout the day than before. This group of second graders loves sitting on a flexible seating option. The flexible seating will allow the students choice in how they would like to sit while still staying at their tables. The flexible seating will allow students to ability to get their wiggles out while they stay focused and learn. Flexible seating options will help with academic learning of the NVAC standards (Common Core) as well as social-emotional learning as students are going to be able to increase their focus.
