My students work hard each week to earn incentives for completing all tasks for the week. This includes sharing with peers and working cooperatively to reach an agreed-upon answer. Students also need to be awarded for random acts of kindness. Students practice group discourse and problem-solving techniques. It's always nice to reward them with things they want or need. These skills can be learned in their speaking and listening standard (SL4.1) and Social Studies Standards (SS 4.2 A-Asking and answering questions) SS3.9- List and discuss individual, local, regional or global problems.
