My students are at a career and technical academy in which they are exploring a career field. I am teaching 10th grade English and I am trying to catch up on a lot of lost learning that occurred during Covid on-line learning the past school year. A lot of my students struggled with staying engaged, focused, and productive during on-line distance learning. Students, especially lost a lot of their writing skills and need a lot of refreshers to remember the writing process. This project will help to teach 10th grade students the writing process while also building the social emotional skills that were lost during on-line distance learning. The materials requested will help students with meeting state standards in writing argumentative essays. Students will be able to use the butcher paper, easel pads, sticky notes, markers, critical thinking game, and paper to collaboratively brainstorm and pre-write the argumentative essay topics and research. The surge protectors, and wall chargers will be used in the final writing stage when they type up their essays. The posters will be used to decorate the class to create an inclusive and inspiring environment. The classroom environment is an important component of students social-emotional well bring.
