These new technologies will assist in reaching students both in the classroom and through virtual learning. My classroom is a digitally based classroom. My students and I work on building our understanding of US History, but also our 21st century digital technology skills as well. We use Class Notebook to create portfolios of our work. We dissect rich primary sources using the draw function(SS.9-12.US3,US4) and we build evidence based arguments, (SS.9-12.US.8). A Surface tablet will enable me to move away from my smartboard podium and rotate through the room to provide direct assistance to students throughout the classroom, while continuing the lesson. The flexibility to roam and still manage the Class Notebook will increase my ability to quickly assess the needs of my students.
