After spending some time learning about figurative language and other literary techniques my goal is for each of my students to create a holiday book utilizing these techniques and demonstrating their clever and artistic selves in a book. The book will be a narrative focusing on the use of similes and metaphors in writing how these devices can liven and elevate their own creative writing, Allowing my students to visualize their stories and imagination coming to fruition is the real gift but they will also be gifting these books to their families as a holiday gift.
