The materials I am requesting will give students opportunities to catch up on the time they've missed socializing with peers and exercising. The mental and physical health of many students took a big hit during COVID-19 quarantines. These balls, jump ropes, and other recess equipment will encourage students to play with their peers again. Outside recess gives students opportunities to be active, which promotes healthy weight, releases energy, and reduces stress. The socializing aspect of playing gives students the skills they need to work together, compromise, and take turns. All of the physical time playing with peers helps students stay prepared for learning in the classroom as well. Because of the reduced stress and energy released, students can spend more time focusing in the classroom. These recess materials will greatly improve the school day for our class.
