The effects of COVID-19 have played a significant impact on the educational development of students; especially those with special needs over the last year and a half. I have noticed my students have fallen behind academically as a result of limited face-to-face direction instruction. These materials will help to close the reading and writing skills gaps that seemed to grow even wider as a result school closures. My students also have difficulty sitting for periods of time and the cushions I requested will assist them with being able to sit during instruction while also giving them the ability to squirm as needed without distracting others. The letter tiles will help to reinforce and improve their phonic skills (RF.1.2b, RF.1.3, RF.K.1d). The Cricut Maker, storage case, and accessories will help my students during writing by giving them a much needed spark of creativity. It will provide an artistic flair to their writing projects and enable them to create something that they can truly be proud of (L.K.1f). My students and I are depending on your generosity to make this project a reality! Our students deserve every opportunity to prove they can succeed. Thanks so much!
