My students will each get an English / Spanish Talking ABC Wall Chart, to use at home. Our school is located in a low income and Spanish speaking community, which makes teaching letters and sounds a challenge for most of our students. In many cases, there are language or financial barriers that hinder students from getting the home support they need. My students are eager to learn, and they all will be given specific strategies in how to effectively use the ABC wall chart and other needed tracing and writing materials at home. They will know what to do and how to work independently when there is no one available to help them. All of the materials will serve very positive and lasting effects on the foundational learning of my students. They will be able to succeed at their own level even if it means tracing letters first. Reading is still our goal!
