Reading comprehension sheets are Common core aligned and support the following standards(RL.3.1, RL.4.1, RL.5.1, and RF.3.3). The boards games and balls will be used to support social skills through turn taking, sportsmanship, collaborating, and following directions. This will give students a unique way to socialize and learn to increase their social and verbal skills. Other stimuli will be used to enhance learning utilizing Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD) strategies that focus on color coded visuals that will be used in combination movement to help increase the understanding of a wide variety of concepts and ideas in ELA and Math. My students have been heavily impacted by COVID-19 which over the last year. Having fresh and exciting material to bring into the classroom can help keep the spark of interest in learning as well as provide many new ways to access academic and social content. This is important for helping build foundational skills and generalize skills across different environments. For students to learn, all their basic needs must first be met. Many of my students have strong sensory needs and benefit from a classroom environment that can be easily adjusted to meet these unique needs. Additionally, these materials will help me design stronger lessons that meet my students at their individual levels to help close some of the gaps that have been furthered due to COVID-19. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help meet the needs of my unique learners!
