As the modern workplace has embraced stand-up desks, so must our schools. Many students have trouble sitting through 100-minute block classes. Stand-up tables give them an alternative seating arrangement to write, organize and collaborate. Standing up will improve their ability to listen and concentrate. Squirrely freshmen, resource students who may struggle with ADHD, and 6'3' seniors will all benefit from these tables. Past experience has shown me their effectiveness. The last stand-up table I had was very effective and student attention in class improved noticeably. They loved it.
