This is my second year teaching and I have a dream of creating the perfect literacy center. I have worked hard to create a amazing library area but it's still missing something. I do not have a listening center or flexible seating option within my library area. I have books on CD but I'm lacking the CD players and headphones to allow students the opportunity to enjoy them. My students this year love to listen to read-alouds as a class and I believe allowing them to the opportunity to choose the book they want to listen to will help not only create a love of reading/books but will also boost their literacy skills. Allowing them the flexible seating will allow them to get cozy and truly enjoy the experience of reading and building their literacy skills.
