Covid-19 impacted the Class of 2022 in many ways, one of them being a lack of face-to-face interactions. When this class reported to campus in August, it was the first time since March 13th, 2020. They missed football games, Homecoming and Proms. Many events that teenagers look forward to were not available to them. I would like to provide them with a social activity where they can interact, feel safe, and begin to reconnect with each other. A movie night is a great way for the students to be together socially and begin to re-establish the connections that Covid-19 damaged. It will be a free event to Seniors where they can enjoy freshly made popcorn and cotton candy in addition to one another's company. The best thing about getting a popcorn machine and a cotton candy machine is that they can be used for many future events for all students. Every person was impacted by Covid-19 in one-way or another. I want to help our campus begin to feel like a family again by creating activities where the students can have fun and just be kids with no academic expectations for a brief time.
