My classes are diverse, and tools are needed to assist in diversifying my teaching so I can meet all student needs. An iPad would provide access to hundreds of educational applications, all of which make English Language Arts more interactive and engaging. The Mac platform offers many applications which are not available on my PC desktop. I can access them on an iPad and then project them on my video screen for my class to see. Individual students (such as English Language Learners, neuro-diverse learners, or any student on an IEP or 504) can also utilize the iPad to access material in a more meaningful and effective way (translation apps, audio versions of material, visual aids, etc.). I can also model productive and educational uses of technology, as opposed to the entertainment-focused use of technology bombarding students at all hours of the day.
