These educational games will help students refine academic skills while fostering habits of cooperation and social skills. My students have been isolated for many hours and many days during COVID and they lack experience working as a team and playing games together, that are not video games. I feel these manipulatives for reading and math will provide an exciting way to learn as well as a platform for practicing appropriate behavior with peer groups. I have included books in my project as well to reignite the love of literature. My students have seen many videos during COVID, and have watched people read books on You Tube, but I have discovered that they really love to sit with a teacher who is holding the book and helping to make the story come alive. The books I have chosen also help broaden understanding of standards taught in 2nd grade across the curriculum.
