The materials for this project are necessary items for creating a welcoming, comfortable and accessible space for students at our school. Students meet with me to plan out their schedules, participate in small groups, classroom lessons, and individual counseling. Parents also come in with their students to resolve issues, as well as to participate in setting out their students' 4-year plan and high school goals. Students need to feel comfortable, safe and engaged in the counselor's office in order to open up, work through issues, and come to solutions together. By offering cozy and accommodating seating, students and parents/guardians will have a more comfortable visit and be able to focus more on the task at hand.
