There are so many powerful opportunities for students to access information with technology. Unfortunately, as a first grade class, we don't have the same access to technology as upper grade classes. COVID made many things more challenging but there were also a lot of silver linings. Finding ways to reach students a These Chromebooks will give students access to teacher developed resources that allow for differentiation and self paced instruction. My first grade class has a wide variety of needs and no teacher's aide. I have found prerecording Loom videos of myself teaching concepts they need additional help with. Students can do project work through Adobe Spark, group learning games such as Kahoot, and math and literacy practice. As the students become more familiar with these resources at school they are able to use them at home to deepen and expand their learning. We can "work, try, and never give up" like we remind one another, but access to tools like this can make our dream a reality.
