I am currently running an old iPad on OS 12.1 that I have been using daily. I would like to upgrade to a new iPad with an increase in speed, storage, and app usage over my current device. I use several different apps such as Math and Plickers but there are some new apps that are unavailable on OS 12.1. There are new math apps that would benefit my students, but they require an iOS of 13 or higher, which is not available with my current iPad. I would use this new technology to reflect and rotate three-dimensional objects for students to have a better understanding and engagement with shapes. I would be able to record the demonstrations in order to make them available to students during online instruction. I would use the technology available to the new iPad to check my students' understanding. I currently use Plickers as a formative assessment for understanding. Students have cards with QR codes that, based on the orientation of the card, represent an answer choice from a given problem. I can scan the room to get quick feedback on the level of understanding for my students to guide my instruction. (NEPF IS 5). I would also like to use available new Apple apps and the Apple Pen that allow feedback on digitally submitted assignments from my students. There are quite a few students who have had to change to distance learning because of COVID and those students submit their assignments digitally. It would benefit my students to see corrections directly on their assignment instead of having to read a phrase about their mistake in an email and then trying to apply it to their assignment.
