We have a student store that is open for students after school and at special events. Although some menu items change throughout the year, we always sell ice cream. A new freezer would ensure our student store's yummy ice cream products are frozen solid. Working in and shopping at our student store addresses math standards in all grade levels (such as K.CC.A.1, K.CC.B.5, 1.NBT.A.1, 2.NBT.B.5, and 3.NBT.A.2) because students are counting money, adding totals, and determining change when making a purchase. The student store provides Social Emotional Learning opportunities and positive reinforcement, two things that are very important right as we come back to school after the pandemic.
