With limitations on available instructional time, each reading experience is important. I have carefully and thoughtfully chosen these books because they are high-quality texts with enduring understandings, vocabulary with several layers of meaning, interesting sentence structure, relevant topics, and most importantly, they are all books worth reading more than once. A multitude of ELA standards will be addressed with these books including RL.2.1-2.10 and RI 2.1-2.10. Additionally, these books and supplies will help address the social emotional learning and support that is critically needed this year as I help students navigate these unprecedented times.
