Students will be cutting out newspaper clippings of food and gluing them to a plate. Decorating the plate with markers, cutting and pasting additional drawn food items. Then playing a learning game where they pass their plates around the class and identify the names of the food in German. This is in line with Standard 2 from the Nevada Academic Content Standards for World Languages. (Standard2:Interpretive Communication: Learners understand, interpret, and analyze what is heard, read, or viewed on a variety of topics.) After a year of online learning, students are eager and excited to put pen to paper and to be creative with their hands. This is so important, as this is an essential part of learning a foreign language. Students will use their binders to store these items and keep their notes organized. A skill they missed out on while being online for over a year.
