My students are eager to learn and up for any challenge. I have seen their eyes light up when they understand the concept. Due to the pandemic, students have a hard time learning basic concepts such as fractions. I have selected fraction tools that can be physically manipulated by students with their hands to help them understand and work out problems. These hands on tools that I have selected are a key element for their success not only in this grade, but will lay a foundation for their successful educational journey. The Common Core standards that will be primarily covered by this project are 5.NF.3, 5.NBT.6, 5.NF.2, 5.NF.4.a, 5.NF.4, 5.NF.6. Students will use these tools to learn fractions. Having their own tools will help reduce the spread of COVID as well.
