I designed this shredding project to simulate an on-the-job experience. My students will decide who will be leaders in the two groups and determine who will complete certain job duties. During the shredding project, my students will practice communication, time management, decision-making, organizing, and teamwork. Because of Covid and the shortage of bus drivers, we cannot go into the community to practice work skills, which is why having the shredding project will be beneficial to all of my students by allowing them to grow in various vocational skills. The shredding project provides my students with the opportunity to build essential work skills to help them succeed once they transition out of public school and try to gain employment and have some independence.
