Kids LOVE to read graphic novels, also known as well-written comics! My project will fund four first grade classrooms at Robey Elementary with the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy reading, something that will last a lifetime! Graphic novels are a great way to engage reluctant and exceptional readers both. The text is written inside speech bubbles and the very colorful detailed illustrations in each small box draws ALL students right into reading, including our English Language Learners. Dav Pilkey is an amazing author, he "gets kids". We want to build our classroom libraries in First Grade with exciting and really enticing books. Thank you for supporting Robey's students!
