Providing students with the opportunity to read grade-level books for enjoyment will increase their desire to read. Additionally, because the newly ordered books focus on more diverse and inclusionary subject matter, they will be more interested in reading them. Having the flexibility to sit in another area of the classroom to read, in comfortable chairs will definitely motivate my students to read. My students are always motivated to read when they have high-interest, high-quality, diverse reading material. The snacks are a great way to reward them for their hard work. Standards included are RL.4.10, RF.4.4, RF.4.4.A, RF.4.4.B, and RF.4.4.C.
