These items will help cultivate a positive learning environment where my students have a safe and supportive environment to attend everyday. I understand that students learn in many different ways so flexible seating is very important. This is why I chose SoftsScape floor cushions for student to utilize around the classroom as well as Norwood commercial stools for students in small groups. During these small groups students have to read books practicing letter sounds and reading fluency where I emphasis using their fingers to follow along. The hand pointer sticks will make reading more engaging and exciting along with the marker dots for sight word learning. Due to the pandemic their have been many changes one of the biggest being maintaining a clean classroom so purchasing Lysol wipes is very helpful. Another change has been to transition to virtual learning so many of my students utilize Chromebook within the classroom. It is very lively with all of the noise these computers make so purchasing a class set of Bulk headphones for the classroom will help keep students focused. Lastly, as stated above students learn in many different ways. I think one of the most valuable ways to learn for students at this age is through art. It makes learning more exciting, fascinating and brings it to life. So purchasing paint, markers, and playdough will help with maintaining a fun and supportive environment and keep them engaged throughout our science lessons.
