These mechanical pencils and pens will allow my student's access to sturdy, long lasting writing utensils. Some of my students are obsessively sharpening their lead pencils throughout the day or easily lose track of them and need a new one every class period. Having a mechanical pencil or pen would allow them to continue writing without interruption for longer periods of time as well as decrease the likelihood of work avoidance behaviors and potential distractions during large group instruction. Mechanical pencils and pens are sought after by my students over lead pencils in almost all circumstances. The differing tactile grips allows my students to continue practicing their fine motor skills as well as their overall organization skills. These writing tools will not only promote independence and responsibility among the diverse learners I teach but also create a more fluid and productive learning environment for everyone.
