As a Special education teacher, I write individual educational plans for each of my students. Each student gets goals and benchmarks that they work on to help them be successful in school. I am a primary special education teacher. I teach student in kindergarten through third grade in the academic areas of reading, writing, math and social/behavior skills. Reading skills are letter and letter sound recognition, phonics skills, decoding and sight word recognition. Math skills are number recognition and other strategies to help support math skills. Writing skills are letter formation, letter and word spacing and writing simple sentences. Social/behavior skills are controlling anger and being able to ask for help. These products will motivate my students to achieve their academic and social and behavior goals. These products will be used at school and at home. Students earn tickets each time they succeed and then are able to trade tickets for these prize or an activity such as the Spirograph. Students are learning basic literacy and mathematics skills and we try to make it fun for them using the dot markers and play dough.
