Our school district is not providing these filters, which is an easy way to make all students feel safe. We have already had multiple students have to stay home due to COVID. These filters kill COVID and with an overcrowded school of 3000 students, this allows my students to focus on learning and not about getting sick. Maslow's hierarchy of needs shows that safety needs must be met before learning can occur. I have a large classroom, so I will put a filter on each side of the room and then the replacement filters will last the next 2 years to keep my classroom air clean and students feeling safe.
The kleenex are in short supply at my school. Additionally, I would like to mitigate students walking around the classroom and disrupting others while they get a kleenex. Having a box for every table will allow students to stay at their seats and maintain social distancing and stay engaged in their learning.
I teach a credit recovery class and the students are working online to make up a class they failed last year due to distance learning. I have found that providing incentives in the form of food and drinks motivates them to work on their classes. They can select items when they finish a class or when they make over a 10% gain on their class. So far, I have had students finish and make up 27 classes to get them on the path to graduate on time. They have been asking for drinks for rewards so I will use the gatorade as incentives.
I am out of staples and we do not have a budget. Students need to staple their essays to turn them in.
