We will be using the clay for the students to create their own clay tablets to experience first hand what writing messages used to entail in historical times. The students will use the Lincoln logs to simulate survival in their beginning of year unit. The binders will help students keep all their materials organized and thus will help them be successful learners. All of these items will help me create excitement for learning among my students and help them recover from the COVID-induced learning loss and isolation. These hands-on projects will encourage students to socialize and work together with their classmates. SS.6-8.EWC.22 is just one of the standards that this project will help address.
