This project is to be used for my students who tend to be restless. With new requirements of classrooms, I wish to use these tools to create a more stable classroom environment, while providing my students choices and the opportunity to have a classroom community that is more welcoming and open to all students, including my reluctant learners! With flexible seating, I hope to maintain my high expectations, as well as make learning more enjoyable and applicable to my active students. Flexible seating options help students to learn regulation and self-control in class. Using these for social-emotional learning means teaching students to use tools to help them learn and grow. These seats will also help students to acknowledge their need for movement in a productive and self-aware manner. These wobble stools will be added to a collaborative space to help cultivate student agency, motivation and self-regulation.
