Since returning to the building I am trying to engage my students as much as possible. In the band room, we spend a lot of time working on creating meaningful music, getting to know one another better, and increasing their social skills by encouraging them to work together daily. Right now a lot of time is spent preparing music in various forms. Having a cutting board will help cut music to the appropriate size needed in order to play the music effectively outside or inside. Instrument maintenance items will help students to keep instruments functioning properly and also to complete minor instrument repairs when possible. The label maker will help with classroom organization by labeling items properly so they do not get misplaced or clearly indicate that they belong to the school and program. My classroom is a place where kids can be themselves and work together to make beautiful music.
