My students are 3rd and 4th grade English Language Learners and they are so eager to learn. Their enthusiasum inspires me to provide the best resources possible. Many of these EL's are reading below grade level, and some two levels. They each try very hard but it is a struggle for many. I want to provide a safe comfortable corner in my room where each one can come, sit in a cozy bean bag chair and read uninterrupted. I will provide a variety of reading materials, fiction and non fiction at their reading level. My students love to read and are anxious to move up to chapter books and graphic novels, but they struggle with grammar and vocabulary. With the items being purchased such as fluency cards, reading comprehension practice, and reading practice journals, I believe will help them become better readers.
