My project will help my students learn so that they can make sense not only of the world around them but also of people, building social-emotional skills and, of course, imagination. Reading exposes them to other styles, other voices, other forms, and other genres of writing. A creative mind is formed by building vocabulary, and it will help connect to their understanding. Learning what interests my students can help them to find books that will be engaging and fun and encourage them to spend time reading the books they bring home from school.
