As a first-year teacher coming into an empty classroom when the year has already started, organization is desperately needed. I plan on using the storage cube and shelving to organize art supplies, books, and office storage. The hooks will be used for our backpacks and coats. Our current backpack storage doesn't have enough hooks, so I often have backpacks and coats lying on the floor. The mailbox system is needed as well. I haven't found an efficient way for my students to take home their work. I feel this mailbox will be an effective tool to take their graded work home. Organization is key to our success. I included desk storage for me so that I will have a place to use our overhead display camera and a place to store my lesson plans. A clicker will aid my lesson flow by allowing me to advance PowerPoints seamlessly. For the craft supplies, I included supplies that will help us all year. Crayons, markers, paint, pom-poms, and pipe cleaners will give my students opportunities for self-expression and artistic creativity. My students love stickers, and our reward system of stickers is a huge motivator for good behavior. I included whiteboards, socks, and dry erase markers because that is something we don't have, and I feel my students would benefit from writing on the white boards when learning how to form words and sentences.
