One of the main skills we are working on this year is to strengthen and enhance the students writing. The standards that these materials will help with are W.5.10, W.5.5 and W.5.4. Going through the writing process takes lots of time, determination, and practice. These materials will help guide the students in the right direction. A skill that many students need is help to correct, revise, and edit their writing. Receiving books that will help practice those skills and folders that will organize the writing to show each step will be a game-changer for them. This will also help them at the end of the year when they have to take their state testing and structure a writing piece on their own.
