These objects will be especially useful for first graders who are still struggling to learn their letter sounds. In first grade, it is crucial for our students to apply their foundational reading knowledge from kindergarten to become fluent readers. Students still practicing letter sounds in first grade need extra support and interventions. Objects, instead of pictures, make a huge difference is creating connections in the brain. There are many hands-on activities students can do with alphabet tubs to enforce their letter sound knowledge.
