My classroom technology is extremely outdated. The computers in my room are over a decade old and do not communicate well with other technological resources that my students use. Technology has become an integral part of teaching and learning, especially since the pandemic forced everyone to learn from home on a computer. It takes a higher level of technological engagement to hold students' attention. These computers will improve my teaching and my students' learning by updating the technology to modern standards. For example, I am unable to utilize my interactive white board to its fullest capabilities because my classroom laptop is so old and slow. If this project is funded, I will be able to have my students, during a lesson, come up to the board and circle locations on a map using the interactive white board which would be operating on the new computer. Activities such as this would increase overall student engagement and, in turn, promote a positive learning environment. Nevada Academic Content Standard 12.IC.SI.1. Use tools and methods for collaboration on a project to increase the connectivity of people in different cultures and career fields.
