As the world transitions to technology, so does education. Most of the students in my class have not received formal typing lessons and have other functional needs. Navigating a Chromebook with the provided mouse pad has proven to be a challenge for many of my students, often times disrupting instruction or causing them to fall further behind in class. By having a wireless mouse, they will be able to seamlessly work through their assignments (almost all of them being on the computer). Having wireless mice will help to minimize the risk of accidents such as cords being broke, laptops being yanked off of tables, and just overall disaster and chaos in the classroom. The unique color scheme of the mouse will allow the kids to feel special in a good way! The dictionaries will serve my ELL population, as some of them do not know any English. I hope to have one for each ELL student so that they are able to actively translate their assignments independently. Despite having access to an online translator, during standardized testing their only translation accommodation is an English-to-Spanish translation dictionary. Hopefully by having daily access to these materials, it will help them to navigate the text more smoothly and also assist in their overall understanding of spoken and written English.
