Our fourth grade students have been through so much these past few years, with their last "normal" school year being when they were in first grade. One area that we have noticed with our students this year after being online most of last year, is that they are struggling as writers. With these basic supplies we will be super focused on helping kids fill in the missing gaps in the often overlooked but critical area of writing. The notebooks, whiteboards and markers will allow them opportunities to write and the binding machine and combs will give them the ability to publish their writing for others to read. This will reinforce the importance of writing as an authentic audience will exist. The students will also record their stories and the headphones will allow them to listen to the stories of their peers. Through writing we will be able to develop other essential skills needed, not only for fourth grade, but for the rest of their careers.
