All of my second grade students lack discourse. Honestly, since the pandemic, students have even forgotten how to speak to each other. The materials I have requested all will be used as center rotations. Each one will provide students the opportunity to have academic discourse. The Famous Inventors Problem Solving STEM kits, Solar System Activity Tub, Bridge Building Engineering Center, and Math Instant Learning Centers will be used as a center rotation, allowing students to problem solve together as a group. The centers will provide students with fun and exciting new activities in reading, math, and science. They will provide various opportunities for students to work as a team and listen to each other in order to complete a goal. Readers Theater Script, Text Features Finding Evidence Kit, and Key Details Finding Evidence Kit will be used in small groups to assist in teaching the skills to students.
