Students will benefit from the ability to manipulate three-dimensional objects, graph using the Apple Pencil, complete transformations in the coordinate plane in real time. Using the technology available will enable students to understand the concepts more quickly, and ensures they are not limited by learning lost during the formative years of their math education. For example, students may have difficulty graphing points on a coordinate plane on paper-pencil, however, they can work with a figure that is already graphed and manipulate it as directed (i.e. dilate, translate, reflect, rotate), without being held back by the inability to correctly identify points on the coordinate plane. Another benefit of this additional technology in my classroom is my students' ability to apply the geometric standards to their real-life situations. No more will they have to wonder "when will I have to use this in life?" Students will be able to see exactly how the informaiton they are learning is applied in everyday life, and hopefully even spark a career interest for some of my students! The standards that will be promoted with these resources include: G-CO (congruence), G-SRT(special right triangles), G-C (circles), G-GMD (geometric measurement and dimension), G-MG (modeling).
